What's in a name?

Original Concept dates back to approximately 2005.

---> Starting point is "The 3 R's".

{NTS; First names and titles only for now ... save Last Names etc for Genealogical/Familial section.}~{and use blue/green combo for now}

Name: Ricky.

Origin: Though Ricky is not the name given to me at birth, it was the name that i was called growing up. The story is such that my namesake was my Paternal Uncle (Richard) and so we would not both respond when the name was called, i went by Ricky.

Notes: I went by Ricky from childhood up to graduating from junior high school (middle school). Generally speaking only those closest to and most endeared with me would call me by this nick-name. These days, only i use the name Ricky.

Name: Richard.

Origin: I have been told that my birth name was to actually be "Eric", but instead it was changed to "Richard" (also see "Ricky" above). I have been told that i was named after my Father's Brother (Richard).

Notes: In 1984 my Namesake passed away. That same year i decided to stay in California. And between that time and upon my entering senior high school i decided to go by Richard instead of Ricky. This remained true until the early nineties (see also "Rick").

Addendum: In October of 2012 started using Richard again for reasons to be mentioned later. Will also add that generally speaking this name only used by persons i went to senior high school with, or my college years, as well as persons 'in position of authority'. {NTS; clarification's will be made later}

Name: Rick.

Other: Obviously a nickname of "Ricky", from "Richard". I started using this name simultaniously with the others when i started 'gigging' and 'clubbing'. Trying to say "Richard" and having someone hear me over the loud music was problematic, but saying "Rick" was easier ... so i started going by Rick [around 1992]. Was also in college at the time...

Special: Subsequent entires will expound on this one.
